Pile Weatherstrips

Pile weatherstrips are generally specified where one or more of the components required to seal, moves - e.g. a sliding door or window. By their nature they tend to slowly wear because of the friction arising from movement of the sliding component member. Proper operation of the sliding component member will minimize wear.

Periodic replacement of pile weatherstrips is a normal part of the maintenance of sliding doors and windows that seal with pile weatherstrips. Unacceptable air leaks in windy weather will indicate when replacement is due.
